Text area
A text area lets users enter longer text over several lines.
Install
One package and one stylesheet. The stylesheet holds the tokens every component uses.
pnpm add @wolf-rayet/reactimport '@wolf-rayet/react/css/wolf-rayet.css';
import { TextArea } from '@wolf-rayet/react';Props
A required prop is marked with an asterisk.
| Prop | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| isInvalid | boolean | None | Marks the field as failing validation. Pair it with a message saying what is wrong. |
| isDisabled | boolean | None | Use only when people can see why. |
Any other props are passed to the underlying textarea, so standard attributes and event handlers work as usual.
Accessibility
What the component does for you, and what it needs from you.
- The label is tied to the control, as with any field.
- The visible size is a hint, not a limit, so match it to the expected answer.
- If there is a character limit, announce the count to screen readers as it changes, not only on screen.
